Issue 1 - CONTINENT OF ICE AND SNOW

Issue 2 - ENERGY FROM EARTH'S INTERIOR

Students will see how these hot rocks are formed, the technology that is used to locate them, and allow them to be mined for heat. Starting with basic principles, the program explains the magnetic fields of the sun and their relationship to earth's magnetosphere, as well as magnetism's role in technology. Issue 4 - OUR OZONE BLANKET
A lesson in scientific investigation as well as our planet's atmosphere, this issue shows how scientists determined that CFC's were the cause of a hole discovered in our protective ozone blanket in 1977. The program also shows how scientists, engineers, and manufacturers worked together to prevent further damage to the atmosphere until ozone friendly substitutes for CFC's were developed. - 10 Minutes
